WE  DON'T  SELL  HORSES............PEOPLE  BUY  THEM.

Our quest for an endurance horse for myself  started in 1996. As a young girl I used to ride Arab horses, but as I have aged I thought I would look for a horse that would suit my more lay back nature yet have that competitive attitude ( while looking after me ) when called on. I so wanted to find myself a Morgan horse to compete on, to really find out for myself  if  they where as good as they say they are. We purchased a part bred Morgan gelding called " Woodbine Bracken " bred by Danna Kneebone. Bracken was broken to harness and lived his life doing dressage, so the challenge was set!  Bracken became my best mate, nothing was too hard for us together to achieve. Out on the trails while training I would pack food and drinks for us both, if he could sit next to me while we ate he would have! on one odd occasion I feel off and he lovingly waited over me until I got back to my feet and got back up....He was my mate.

Over our endurance years together we where nearly always in the top 5 at any ride we entered, even winning 80km & 190km rides. Our absolute highlight was entering the Tom Quilty, ridding with some of the most elite ridders and horses in Australia over a hard 160km in 24hrs. Up until then there had never been a Morgan horse entered ( not even a part bred ), it was a true honour and the greatest challenge we had ever done together. The end result was that we completed the ride against some 205 entrants with only just over 100 completing, we came in at a proud 45th in our division. My love and devotion to this breed of horse is purely passionate! I have never owned a horse in my life that is so dedicated to their owner.

My Rick has been so supportive over the years, being my Strapper, Driver ( all over the country side to compete ) Builder/Designer of many stables and safe fencing. So, when I suggested that we start breeding this unique breed, so more people could enjoy them as we do. Our dream of a stud was born. We first purchased from MT Tawonga Morgan stud at Sandy Creek, Victoria, MT Tawonga Splendore a part bred Morgan filly with Arab blood for my future endurance horse. Then MT Tawonga Christa, a purebred Morgan Mare that would give us size, temperament and some wonderful old Morgan lines. Christa is the half sister to our Woodbine Bracken, both sired by Wawayanda Watch Out

In 1999 we imported our Pure bred Lippitt stallion,  Karenza Apollo from NZ. Then in 2001 I went to NZ and bought another 8 Lippitt  Morgan horses to bring home and started our Morgan stud. All carefully bred by Norman Marsh of  Karenza Morgan Stud situated in Canada. You may ask how these special horses made it to NZ? Well, Norman Marsh exported Covenant Amelia Moro in foal to Meddo's Valiant, Venturous Melanie in foal to Madrona Select Lad and Covenant Kaelyn Moro in foal to Ryegate Syndicate. Norman then agisted them with Dan Magil in NZ  to bred them on while he lived in Canada. He would come and visit his pride and joys every summer to make sure that his foals where of great quality as he had planned. When Norman Marsh decided to retire from breeding Morgan horses I was given the opportunity to purchase his beautiful Morgan horses, so we bought them to Australia to widen the Morgan genetic pool here.

We started looking for our second stallion to complement our breeding plan in 2004. While we where not really in a hurry, I knew what I was after and took my time searching. Then one night after searching the web through what seemed thousands of websites I finally found the perfect Morgan colt " Baptiste Levis Strauss ". Even  though he was only one month old I new he was the one, we could wait for him to come of age because he had every thing I was after...Length of neck, perfect conformation, handsome expressive head, size, and when I saw him move on that video.....movement with presence! most of all  that I am always after...Temperament. Oh, did I mention, he's also a Cremello that will ensure us coloured Morgan horses in the future. We are so fortunate to be able to own this wonderful boy who came all the way from Baptiste Lake Morgan Farm in Canada, bred by Larry & Marg Armfelt. Levis arrived here at Haymeron Park April 2006 and will be standing at stud when he has comes of age.

Thank you for your time, as we pride ourselves in our wonderful Morgan horses here.
